Maple Hollow Botanicals

From Nature’s Hands to Yours.

“Knowing that you love the earth changes you, activates you to defend and protect and celebrate. But when you feel that the earth loves you in return, that feeling transforms the relationship from a one-way street into a sacred bond.” ― Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass

Mission

Create clean botanical beauty products in a manner that honors, protects and celebrates the natural world and her gifts.

“Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul alike.- John Muir in The Yosemite (1912)

Vision & Values

We seek to create clean beauty products from wild-crafted and cultivated herbs grown here on our farm. We work to be good stewards by farming sustainably, conserving, sourcing locally, reusing, recycling, and minimizing plastic use.  We are most happy when we are working in our fields and woods with our hands in the dirt, learning from plants, and creating with them. Our bond is not only with the earth, but by extension with our community. As such, we strive to support our community by sourcing supplies that we can’t produce ourselves from our neighboring greenhouses, apiaries, and mills. We will continue to learn and teach about the benefits of wild and garden herbs, to respect and protect their wild beauty for our children, and nurture the sacred bond that we all have with the natural world.

Our Story

Maple Hollow Botanicals began in my kitchen roughly a decade ago, when I experimented with my first batch of natural soap. It was carrot and chamomile. I was hooked! This hobby quickly grew into a business selling soaps, lotions, and other beauty products with an herbal twist. We sold our products at local craft fairs and in stores, but soon found that our small herb patch couldn’t supply the volume of plants we needed, and it was then that we began to expand. Today, our family is busy year-round harvesting plants on our small herb farm in rural Pennsylvania for use in our skincare recipes. Our process is a labor of love. After all the planning, planting, and harvesting, we begin processing the herbs into the oil infusions, extracts, teas, andthat we use in our products.  There are months and months of time and labor in each product that you purchase, but it’s worth it. It ensures quality and allows us to pass our love of plants onto you!  My affinity for plants began long before Maple Hollow. As a child here in Bradford county, I spent my days exploring the fields, creeks, and woods for hours on end.  My favorite times were spent alone with my plant id books, learning about and collecting flowers, roots, and herbs to make creations.  While I believe the time in the woods taught me to value plants, family, and creativity, it also established a sacred bond with the earth that guides the mission and vision of our company today.

Thank you for supporting our company. We hope you enjoy our products and feel a little bit closer to the earth that sustains us.   Sincerely, Beth, Stephen, Nicholas, Christine
